I work in ink, watercolour and acrylic paint, often combining all these media.

I have had an interest in art for many years and did a fine art and sculpture course at Cumbria College of Art and later at Preston Polytechnic concentrating on printmaking and sculpture.

I didn’t start painting until a friend persuaded me to join her at an adult education art class. I owe her a lot, having continued painting since that time.

I am mostly inspired by the natural world, especially strong shapes such as rivers running through the landscape.

My interest in art began when I was very young, although I have had no formal training in this to date.
